Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli, acknowledged for his flamboyant and glamorous fashion, has died aged 83.

“The Roberto Cavalli firm shares condolences with Mr Cavalli’s family loss,” explained chief executive Sergio Azzolari on Instagram.

Cavalli, who launched his label in the early 1970s, died at his home in Florence, Italian news agency ANSA claimed.

Cavalli’s funeral will be held in Florence on Monday, Italian media noted.

“From humble beginnings in Florence, Roberto succeeded in getting a globally recognised title liked and respected by all.
