When Gianni Versace was a youngster, he stumbled on a single of the late photographer Richard Avedon’s most well-recognised photos: Dovima With Elephants, which portrayed the American supermodel in a Dior robe delicately holding onto the animal’s trunk and ear. The image enraptured the designer so a great deal that Avedon grew to become a favorite photographer of his—and they would go on to have a 20-12 months collaboration with 1 another.
Now, the Versace model is teaming with Avedon the moment more—this time, for a ebook titled Richard Avedon, Relationships, out March 14 by the publishing residence SKIRA, in collaboration with the Middle for Innovative Photography and The Richard Avedon Basis.
