South High students dive into textiles, merchandising and fashion design | Nebraska Today

The College of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Office of Textiles, Merchandising, and Trend Style welcomed 19 3rd- and fourth-yr Vogue Pathway pupils from South Superior University in Omaha for a check out. These college students explored the assorted array of encounters and prospects the section has to offer.

Sandra Starkey, affiliate professor, and Michael Burton, assistant professor, gave the students a tour of the section services and collections, such as the Robert Hillestad Gallery and the Historic Textiles Selection. Students also acquired about the different systems applied by faculty and college students, which includes Rokoko motion-capture bodysuits, Clo3D digital apparel style and design application, body scanning for avatar generation, and digital area layout for textiles.

“The technology they experienced was spectacular since it was new to me, and I experienced never ever expert anything comparable to it,” reported Emily Sanchez, a South High student.

“I hoped to inspire the students to envision themselves in this article, recognizing our manner pathway as their gateway to a prosperous long term,” Policky reported. “I want them to see that their techniques make them correctly suited for the revered UNL Textile program.”

The effect of the stop by was apparent in the enthusiastic responses from the students.

“It’s 1 of the finest tours I have experienced, loads of data specified along with helpful and outgoing learners,” said pupil Ayanna Barragan. “They answered all of my concerns and have been tremendous straightforward about the school.
